It's August.  I'm already thinking about Halloween and have been for a couple of months already.  I've been on the hunt for the perfect Halloween costume for my Sweet Girl and New Baby.

Arguably, any Halloween costume can be homemade.  Some require serious effort (sewing, building, months of preparation).  Some only require a pair of scissors or a marker (bed sheet-turned-ghost I'm looking at you).

Growing up, my mother made, literally, every. single. one. of my and my brothers' Halloween costumes.  Looking back, it is something so thoughtful and heartwarming that I decided it's how I want my kids to remember Halloween.

Last year was Sweet Girl's first Halloween.  I made her THE CUTEST Halloween costume EVER.  She was a 6 month old little chickie.  If I wasn't against putting her pictures on the world wide web, I'd totally be showing you.  If I ever change my mind, it will be one of the first pictures I post!

With a new baby due to arrive at the beginning of October, I'm trying to get ahead on as much as I can.  Since we'll have two babes to dress this year, I've been searching for sibling costumes to make myself.  We don't know the sex of New Baby, so it does make things a little more difficult for finding a Halloween costume.

See how else I'm getting ahead before baby in this post, this one, and this one.

Pinterest is a serious lifesaver with this mama right now.  I can't focus on any one thing with only 6+ weeks to go before baby is born.  Not to mention my creativity has left the building LONG ago.  AND do you know how hard it is to get in the Halloween spirit in JUNE?!

SO!  I've put together a few of my favorite sibling costumes to inspire you (and myself).  I've linked to sources where I could to give you some ideas, even though some are for purchase or just pictures.

Girls can be firefighters, too!  Or a dalmataion.  Either way, pretty stinkin' cute!
