Because rather than be a fantasy, it can be an excellent way to work out what is important to you and what you would want? Some people think they would buy a private jet and go off around the world, but would they? If they wanted to go off around the world, what is stopping them now? Where Would You Live?
Would you immediately go and buy a big mansion just because you can? Or would you buy something that would suit the needs of you and your family, perhaps with a swimming pool and even lake fountains in front of the house to be fancy, with no mortgage to pay off and enough room for guests? Would you want something so big that you never used it or went into certain rooms? Would you want something so big that you never saw your family? Maybe you would, or perhaps you wouldn’t blow it all on the house, but buy something which is a sound investment and still amazing.
What Would You Drive?
Now then, would you buy a load of different cars so that you could take your pick each day? Or are you not that bothered and you’d get yourself the latest Fiat 500 with all the mod cons? Perhaps you don’t even want to drive, you want to be driven, and you’d spend your money on getting a chauffeur so that you can go out on leisurely lunches and not have to worry about traffic or parking.
What Would You Do?
It would probably be strange to go back to working on the tills at the supermarket if you had just come into a load of money, however, what would you do each day? Would you help out with a charity? Learn something new? Devote your time to writing a book? Get through your bucket list? There are loads of options here, which is good as lunching and pampering every day could get very dull.
If you have a real think about this question, it can help you to have a look at your life now without winning the lottery. For many of the things you say you would do if you had the money, you can do them now without. Okay, you’d be doing them on a budget but if you want cars, then save, spend wisely and prioritize and work toward getting your vehicles. If you want a huge house, work towards it. It’s always good to have a goal and waiting around until you win the lottery isn’t the best way to get there, so do it without!
