There really is a thing about not being able to sleep properly or having your sleep interrupted to make you feel really off. And you’re going to suffer the next day. Switching Off In The Evenings
First of all, you’re going to want to make sure that you are relaxing and switching off before bed. If you are on your phone, working, or worked up right before you try to get to sleep, you will struggle. But if you read a book, have a bath, or pray, you’re going to be able to sleep better.
Having A Routine
The next thing you can do to help yourself here, is to give yourself an evening routine. Because if you are kind of all over the place in the evenings, then this is going to impact on your sleep. But if you have a set routine where you can get that switch off time in, unwind, and then start to feel sleepy and relaxed before bed, you’ll sleep well. So this is why you need to get a routine in place – so play around with what works for you.
De-Stressing
Now, if you know that you’re stressed out a lot of the time in the evenings, then this might then pass on into your sleep pattern. So, you have to make sure that you avoid being stressed out in the evenings. One of the things that might be tough for you, is putting the kids to bed. So you are going to ensure that you’re making bedtime easier to counteract this. Then, when the kids are sorted, you can then go into your switch off mode.
Setting The Tone
But your bedroom does also have to be right too. You need to be comfortable, the temperature has to be right, and you need to feel sleepy. So think about how to set the tone before you try and sleep.
Having A Bedtime
And finally, you absolutely need to make sure that you have a set bedtime. Yes, that’s right, you need a bedtime too. It’s really not just for kids. Because if you are going to sleep at the same time each night, and then you are getting up at the same time each morning, your body will get the picture. And you’re going to find that you naturally get tired at the right times, and it’s much easier for you to sleep well each night.
